ABOUT DR SEAN
Originally from the beautiful coastal town, Denmark in the Great Southern, Sean grew up as the eldest of four children and was constantly involved in various sports. Since his teenage years, Sean has always enjoyed coaching and assisting with children’s development in sports (including tennis, football and basketball) and it was Sean’s love of sport and exercise which led to his interest in the ability of the body to adapt and perform under stress. This then drove him to begin his Chiropractic studies in Perth at Murdoch University where he completed his double degree in 2012. In 2011 Sean travelled to Northern India with some of his cohort to provide basic first aid and chiropractic care to the families in the slum regions of Siliguri. During his studies Sean has sought out a variety of techniques that he uses to help identify and relieve causes of dysfunction and pain that often occur during everyday activities.
Sean’s aim is to get his patients back to enjoying their lifestyle as efficiently as possible, whilst supplying them with the knowledge and tools to prevent these becoming reoccurring or debilitating issues. Poor work postures, working around the house and weekend physical activities are just some examples of what can regularly trigger back pain and/or injuries. Whilst chiropractic is a manual therapy, health and wellness are dependant on a variety of factors and don’t just rely solely on physical movement function. It is with this philosophy in mind that he opened The Perth Chiro in Mount Hawthorn, to help you get back your best and to make sure there is chiropractor nearby that you can trust.
Sean and the team are aware that mental and emotional wellbeing, along with good diet and nutrition, plays a hugely important (and sometimes underappreciated) role in maintaining good health. In recognising the role that emotional stress (taking many forms including: parental stresses, relationship issues with loved ones, work stress and being time poor/not having enough time for yourself are just a few) plays in affecting not only physical tension but also hormone function, Sean has studied techniques like N.O.T (Neural Organization Technique) and The SD (Sympathetic Dominance) Protocol to help diffuse the negative effects of day-to-day ongoing stress on the body.
Using this knowledge Sean enjoys helping time-poor parents and busy, active kids to get back to enjoying the lifestyle they love with a view to maintaining a good work-life balance.
When he isn’t with patients Sean currently enjoys working on his golf and keeps fit with time spent running and working out, though he is also known to get lost in a good book from time to time.
